Day 1— Thursday November 5 — Depart for Africa! Make your way to your gateway airport. Check-in for our departure to Tanzania and get ready for the adventure of a lifetime. (in flight services)
Day 2—Friday November 6 — Welcome to Kilamanjaro Airport, Tanzania! Arrive and transfer to our hotel in Arusha for a well deserved rest. It’s on! (In flight service).
Day 3 — Saturday November 7 — Village Tour & Ngorongoro After breakfast, depart we make our way to the local farming village of Mto wa Mbu where you will have a guided tour. This village is unique in Tanzania since it is home to over a 120 different tribes from across Africa. The tour will take you to see local farms, schools, a kindergarten, local homes, the market and milling machines. In the late afternoon, drive toward Ngorongoro Crater and check into your accommodations on the crater rim. On our way here we may stop at a local Maasai village to distribute solar lamps and water filters to a family without electricity – we will make a huge difference in their lives and it will be an experience you will never forget! Tonight arrive on the rim of the famous Ngorongoro Crater and enjoy our 2 night stay with amazing rooms with view balconies! (Breakfast, lunch, dinner)
Day 4 — Sunday November 8 — Ngorongoro Crater In the morning enjoy an early breakfast and be one of the first vehicles descending the six hundred meters (2,000ft) into Ngorongoro Crater for superb day of game viewing. A UNESCO World Heritage Site (and with very good reason), the cavernous bowl-shaped crater is in fact a caldera, formed two to three million years ago when a large volcano exploded and collapsed in on itself. Today, the flat floor is covered in nutritious grasses and home to an unprecedented number of black rhino as well as black-maned lion, magnificent tuskers and smaller plains game. Return to our amazing crater rim lodge to enjoy the views and dinner!. (Breakfast, lunch, dinner)
Day 5 — Monday November 9 — Central Serengeti This morning, enjoy another fabulous breakfast before we get an early start driving to the Serengeti. In the afternoon, enjoy our first Serengeti game drive followed by check-in for the first of (3) nights at our new tent camp home on the Serengeti, complete with private showers and bath facilities of course! (Breakfast, lunch, dinner)
Day 6/7 — Tuesday/Wednesday November 10/11 — Central Serengeti—Spend two full days in the on the Central Serengeti. The Serengeti is characterized by short grass plains stretching endlessly to the horizon. Here and there, rock kopjes break above the horizon to provide refuge to lion, leopard and cheetah, who take advantage of the high ground to get a good view of potential prey or to catch the breeze. This is an area is an area of acacia woodland and lakes, in clear contrast to the open plains. The Serengeti is home to the wildebeest migration, when over two million wildebeest arrive to calve in the open. (Breakfast, lunch, dinner)
Day 8/9 — Thursday/Friday November 12/13 — Serengeti to Zanzibar After an early breakfast, head to Serengeti Airstrip from which we will catch our flight to Zanzibar. From Zanzibar airport transfer to our beach resort where you will stay for (2) nights. Spice Island, Slave Island, Arab Island, Tropical Island - Zanzibar is or was all of the above. Today it’s the tropical beaches and all the romance and attractions that go with them that are the main attraction to this Indian Ocean Island. Scuba diving, snorkeling, deep sea fishing, kayaking, windsurfing, waterskiing and sailing on traditional local dhows (small local sailing craft) are part of the multitude of activities to entertain you, but don’t forget just relaxing on a tropical beach (Breakfast, lunch)
Day 10 — Saturday November 14 — Stonetown, Zanibar Enjoy a hearty breakfast at our private beach resort before we transfer south on the Island for a final night in a historic heritage hotel to explore the enchanting winding streets and high townhouses of old Stone Town, with their giant, ornate doors, remaining unchanged and there are spice tours to working plantations rich with strong aromas of cloves, vanilla, nutmeg and cinnamon to enjoy. Day 11 — Sunday November 15 — Farewell Tanzania! Enjoy a hearty breakfast and a free day of exploration in Stonetown before return flights lift us away from this amazing place. Arrive home November 16. (Breakfast, inflight service)
